The Easiest, Best Melt-In-Your-Mouth Christmas Treat!
Ingredients
40 saltine crackers
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups chocolate chips
3/4 cup chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 400 degrees and line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Line saltine crackers in a single layer on the cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees on middle rack for 5 to 6 minutes or until you see bubbles. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave for about 1 minute then spread over crackers. Top with chopped nuts. Cool completely. Allow to cool completely.
In a small pot combine sugar and butter and bring to a boil. Once mixture is at a boil, continue boiling for 3 minutes. Mixture should be a deep caramel color. Immediately pour over saltines and spread to cover crackers completely.
Then place cookie sheet in fridge for approximately 30 minutes. (This allows foil to peel easily from saltines). Break into pieces and enjoy!
